"Empowering Women is not just a goal — it's a responsibility."
— Dr. Aravind Lakshminarayanan
National President, Indian Make-Up Artists Federation (IMAF)
Dear Sisters, Artists, and Future Leaders,
It is with immense pride and heartfelt passion that I welcome you to the Indian Make-Up Artists Federation (IMAF) — a movement built not only on beauty and creativity, but on empowerment, dignity, and opportunity for every woman across India.
As someone who has devoted my life to social upliftment, youth empowerment, and skill-based transformation, I have witnessed the extraordinary power that lies in the hands of women — especially those who wield brushes, colours, and art to transform lives. Yet, despite their talent, so many of our beauty professionals remain unrecognized, unsupported, and unheard.
IMAF was born to change that.
Built with Strength, Backed by Power
This is not just a private initiative. IMAF is built with the strength of national and international alliances:
Affiliated with the International Make – Up Artists Committee (IMAC) – USA
Recognized by the Indian Art & Culture Federation (Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India)
In alignment with the International Culture Council (UN SDG Partners)
Partnered with Aravind Foundation — affiliated with Skill India, NSDC, and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship
Focused on women through schemes of the Ministry of Women & Child Development
These partnerships ensure that our members not only get training and exposure, but also government-certified credentials, employment recognition, and business support.
My Promise as President
- To bring national dignity to the beauty profession
- To create sustainable careers for women through skill + certification
- To fight for policy inclusion and government schemes for every beauty professional
- To make sure no woman is left behind, whether in a village or in a fashion studio
- To showcase India’s beauty industry on global platforms with pride
These partnerships ensure that our members not only get training and exposure, but also government-certified credentials, employment recognition, and business support.
A Call to Every Woman Artist in India
To every woman who has held a makeup brush, drawn a mehandi stroke, styled a bride, or touched a client with care — your work matters. Your art deserves recognition. Your dreams deserve wings.
Come, be part of IMAF. Let us build a future where every beauty artist is a respected professional, an entrepreneur, and a leader.
Let us make beauty a tool of transformation, not just for faces — but for lives.
With respect and solidarity,
Dr. Aravind Lakshminarayanan
